Promoting our local businesses and charities

Jonathan joined over 100 senior citizens from Woking and our villages at this Christmas event put on by the terrific local charity Silver Friends and generously hosted by Greenfield School.

Jonathan was delighted to attend the Pyrford and Wisley Village Show. The annual event that attracts thousands of visitors every year was held at the the Pyrford Cricket Club ground. 

Jonathan was recently delighted to attend the 2023 CREST Awards. Following their inauguration with the hugely successful CREST21 Awards, they have become established as an annual event and are Surrey’s first awards uniquely aimed at celebrating business sustainability.

Jonathan had the pleasure to meet with the Surrey Representative of the Federation of Small Businesses alongside local #Woking small businesses and discussed the challenges that many local businesses are facing.

Jonathan Lord MP welcomed the Minister for Pensions, Laura Trott MP to Woking to help raise awareness of Pension Credit.

Woking’s Member of Parliament, Jonathan Lord, celebrated the Woking Litter Warriors’ work and success by inviting Woking Litter Warriors’, Lauren Horncastle and David Horncastle to attend a reception at 10 Downing Street on 24th April for local “Charity Champions”.

Most households will automatically get a £200 Alternative Fuels Payment (AFP) if they:

are in England, Scotland or Wales
use alternative fuels for most of their heating, such as liquid petroleum gas (LPG), oil or solid fuel
are connected to the electricity grid

The Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Fund is now live.

Jonathan Lord MP had the privilege and honour of attending Woking's "Stand With Ukraine" gathering in Jubilee Square on Friday, marking the anniversary of the illegal invasion of Ukraine and the dreadful year of conflict and hardship that has ensued for the Ukrainian people.

Many constituents have asked Jonathan for information re. energy support for park home residents.
