Last Friday, Jonathan Lord MP took part in a debate on climate change, chaired by Bronwen Smith-Thomas, Senior Campaigns Manager at WWF UK.
The debate was organised by members of WEAct (Woking Environment Action) as part of Woking Great Big Green Week.
Jonathan was joined on the panel by:
- Nick Gardener, Head of Climate Action at The National Lottery Community Fund and Co-Founder of Semble, Outdoor Classroom Day and Backyard Nature UK. Member of WEAct
- Cllr Kevin Davis, Woking Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Climate Change, Environment and Sustainability
- Sean Rendell, Chief Operating Officer, ThamesWey
- Mel Hemmings, Owner, Bare + Fair and Crest Sustainability Hero Winner
Jonathan Lord MP, Member of Parliament for Woking, commented, "It was great to have an opportunity to discuss with the other panellists the big environmental challenges of our day, including climate change, and how we, as a country, are going to meet those challenges. This meeting could not have been more timely, given the approaching COP26 summit and the leading global role that the U.K. will need to play at that vital Climate Change Conference.”
