Earlier this month, Jonathan Lord MP was delighted to join Woking's Mayor, Cllr Saj Hussain, and Major Thomas Wallis RLC, Second in Command at the Army Training Centre (Pirbright), in the Mayor's Parlour prior to the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant at the Council meeting that followed.
The Covenant commits Woking Borough Council to supporting our Armed Forces Community, including local service families and veterans, and recognises the significant contribution that Service personnel make to our community and to our country.
Jonathan Lord, Member of Parliament for Woking, commented: "This was the tenth anniversary of Woking Borough Council first signing up to the Military Covenant and I have seen from my MP casework how this commitment has had a positive impact for military families over the past ten years. As MP, I am a regular visitor to the Army Training Centre at Pirbright and I am pleased that the Centre is going to be significantly expanded and enhanced over the next few years".
