On Saturday, Jonathan Lord MP was delighted to join the Mayor of Woking, Cllr Saj Hussain, and hundreds of local residents in Jubilee Square to help celebrate Chinese New Year.
Commenting on the festivities, Jonathan said:
"The festivities started with a colourful procession around the town centre, accompanied by drumming and by dancing Chinese lions, and was followed by wonderful performances and demonstrations in the Square, including traditional dances and songs and tai chi. Additional colour and interest was provided by a wide range of stalls serving delicious food and demonstrating traditional Chinese arts and crafts such as calligraphy. Our grateful thanks go to the Chinese Association of Woking for putting on this terrific event. Happy New Year!"
