Jonathan Lord MP has recently attended a parliamentary event on behalf of the Pharmacists Defence Association (PDA), in support of their “Medicines to Ukraine” campaign.
The invasion of Ukraine led to an outpouring of support in the UK, with many people and organisations sending provisions. As the war continues and the humanitarian crisis deepens, casualties are needing specialist medication. Pharmacists across Europe are using their expertise to procure, arrange the logistics and organise the safe delivery of specialist medicines to where they are most needed in Ukraine.
Commenting on the campaign, Jonathan said: “Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine has created a crisis where provisions are desperately needed. The people of the UK have shown their kindness with unprecedented amounts of charitable donations offered and sent to Ukraine, but more still needs to be done. I am therefore proud to support this fantastic and successful charitable campaign by so many British pharmacists, and I encourage fellow parliamentarians and the general public to do so as well.”
