Jonathan has made this statement about the incident at the Woking fireworks display:
“I am pleased that all but one of the children have now been discharged from immediate medical care, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the one remaining child who is unfortunately still in hospital. We must now find out exactly what happened and an investigation is underway to ascertain this. It is important that lessons are learnt and I am sure that the Health and Safety Executive will do a very thorough job not only investigating what happened but also making recommendations for the future. Given the two other horrific accidents on inflatables in England over the past couple of years, I support my colleague Robert Halfon MP in calling for a temporary ban on inflatables in public spaces until we can be much more certain that they are safe.”
