July 2020
Dear Constituent,
Thank you for writing to me about coronavirus and reflexologists. I have read your email carefully and noted the key points that you raise.
You will be pleased to learn that I have signed a letter to the Prime Minister by Caroline Nokes, Chair of the Women and Equalities Committee, regarding support for the beauty, aesthetics and wellbeing industries.
I am pleased that, as of 13 July 2020, reflexology services may reopen in England. This is as a result of the Business Secretary, Alok Sharma, working with industry taskforces to develop specific Covid-19 Secure guidance for close-contact businesses, including reflexologists.
The Association of Reflexologists has provided further clarification such as stating that while some services may resume, unfortunately facial reflexology services are unable to take place until it can be proven that they can be carried out safely.
Further advice can be found on their website: https://www.aor.org.uk
Full details of the Covid-19 Secure guidance can also be found online at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/close-contact-services
Thank you again for writing to me.
With best wishes.
Kind regards,
Jonathan Lord MP
Member of Parliament for Woking
